SMILES

Well it's been some time since the last post. Life has settled into a bit of a routine ... unfortunately not one that encourages sleep. No matter what we try Ari continues to remain unsettled during the nights. She doesn't cry as much, but she doesn't sleep either. Then coz she's been awake most of the night she sleeps in the mornings, along with Roz who is exhausted from doing the 2am till morning shift, while Dan heads off to work having just woken following his till 2am shift.

But when she is awake she is giving us some beautiful smiles. they are rather difficult to capture as Ari appears to be a little camera shy at thr moment (that will no doubt change).

In other news Dan was up in Cairns overnight for work last week. He was able to use his non work time to catch up with both Stew and his fiancee Danielle for a wonderful corn meat meal (awesome sauce Stew) and Sharna for a morning breakfast on the Esplanade.

Poppy is recovering well and the reports are all good. So keep him your prayers.

Just a question...do you let her sleep in a darkened room or is it full of light during the day? Was reading somewhere that new bubs need their body clock adjusted so have as much natural light as possible during the day and somehow their body knows... Don't know how much truth there is in that one. I think with Catherine we used the above theory as well as adjusting her routine by adjusting her feed times. We also made sure we didn't have playtime with her at night but just started a night routine. It took a while, but she got the hang of it. Good luck.
