So it's been awhile since our last post and since then we have discovered parental freedom! That's right - we went out without Ari for a night! We went out to Daniel's work mid-year function. It was an academy awards themed night with the attire being black-tie or come-as-your-fav-movie-character. So we had beautifully dressed people mingling with the Scots from Braveheart, Dr Evil and more. crazy stuff
And as you can see little Ari has sort of smiled for the camera. She tends to stare at it whenever it appears and stops smiling and starts concentrating *sigh*
On the sleeping side of things.... Houstan we have liftoff! Yup the sandman has finally come to Ari. She manages to skip a feed in the wee hours of the morning. She isn't up to anything more than 7 1/2 hrs yet but we're getting there. She had a couple of regressive nights straight after the weekend but that was probably coz the nighttime routine was broken a bit.
Oh and Rach (Hodge) has said that we should share our parenting stories to *ahem* showcase parenting... so here goes story #1
Nappy Scrubbing 101
It's Saturday and Roz (fresh, awake and bathed) decides to get into the pile of nappies that needs to get washed. So the dirty nappies are happily soaking away in nappy buckets (where good mummys and daddys put the nappies). You know a big fat nappy bucket, full to the brim with water, Napisan, nappies, wee and poo.
...you can start groaning u can see where this is going
It's kinda heavy all that stuff so Roz bunches up her muscles and lifts the full bucket *YANK* *big inhale* up into the laundry tub *BANG!* *SLOSH* *screams* The lidless bucket, after being hit hard on the bottom, has spewed its contents up into the air! And of course because of the effort of lifting the heavy bucket Roz has her mouth open like an Ekka clown. Straight into her mouth goes the yukky water, all over her face, in her freshly washed hair and her clean clothes! YUCK!!!!
TIP: don't lift nappy buckets with your mouth open
